Our 21+ rule

This site is for readers aged 21 or older. PPPoker's own Terms and the app-store listings use lower age ratings, but our content discusses real-money arrangements around the game, so we apply the stricter 21+ limit, the same threshold used for licensed gambling in the Philippines. If you are under 21, please do not use the information here to play for money.

How to keep poker a game

  • Set a budget before you start and treat it as the price of entertainment. Never play with money you need for rent, food, bills or school.
  • Set a time limit and take regular breaks. Long sessions on a phone are easy to lose track of.
  • Never chase losses. Playing more to win back what you lost is the clearest path to a bigger loss.
  • Do not borrow money to play and do not play with money that is not yours.
  • Keep money arrangements clear. The PPPoker app has no cashier. Deposits and cashouts are arranged with a club or its agent outside the app, so decide your limit before you send anything. Read how money really works first.
  • Do not play when you are tired, upset or drinking. Decisions get worse and losses get bigger.
  • Stay balanced. Poker should not replace work, study, sleep or time with family and friends.

Signs of problem gambling

Talk to someone if several of these sound familiar:

  • You play to escape stress, boredom or bad feelings.
  • You spend more money or time than you planned, or keep playing to win back losses.
  • You borrow money, sell things or use money meant for bills and food to play.
  • You hide how much you play from family or friends, or lie about it.
  • You feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down, and you cannot stop.
  • Work, study or relationships suffer because of your play.

Where to get free help in the Philippines

  • National Problem Gambling Helpline (NPGH), a PAGCOR-accredited service: (02) 8248-9568, www.npgh.ph.
  • NCMH Crisis Hotline (National Center for Mental Health): 1553. Free mental-health support if gambling is affecting how you feel.
  • PAGCOR, the gaming regulator: www.pagcor.ph.

If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

If someone close to you gambles too much

Stay calm and talk privately, without blame. Ask what is going on, listen first, and offer to help them contact one of the services above. Do not lend money to cover gambling debts, and protect your own savings and accounts. Problem gambling is a health issue and help is available.

Our commitments

We do not promise winnings or income. We do not recommend clubs or agents. We label claims we could not verify, and we show the 21+ rule and responsible-play notes across the site. Read more in our disclaimer and editorial policy.
